Bio

Cypriot drummer Stelios Xydias began his musical journey at the age of 13, driven by a deep passion for rhythm and melody. His dedication led him to Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Drums.

Since then, Stelios has performed across Europe, appearing at renowned venues and festivals. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with acclaimed artists including Gilad Atzmon, Amos Hofman, Guthrie Govan, and Damien Erskine, continually expanding his musical perspective through these creative partnerships.

Alongside his performing career, Stelios is deeply committed to music education. For more than a decade, he has taught drums and led workshops, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of musicians.

As a session drummer, Stelios approaches every recording with creativity, versatility, and a collaborative mindset. His discography includes recordings with Mighty Sugarcane (Atomic), Sonica (Introducing), Cahit Kutrafalı (Transitions), and many other artists and projects.

Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the classroom, Stelios continues to pursue meaningful musical experiences, connecting with audiences and fellow musicians through his artistry, dedication, and craftsmanship.
